Our passengers were from the continental United States, Hawaii, and France. We were all excited to view a section of the world we had never seen before. The boat traveled through the Magellan and Beagle channels with only a very short foray in the open Pacific. Generally the water was calm and no one suffered from sea sickness.

When we were on shore we broke up into small groups, with each group led by a naturalist. There were the birdwatchers, the natural history buffs, and the fast walkers. Before we took the zodiacs back to the ship we were treated to either a strong drink or some hot chocolate.

In the dining room there was no set seating arrangement. There was always a chance to meet new people. There was an early breakfast for those who got up early and after dinner videos for the kids and those young at heart. Also, during one day it was exciting to visit Puerto Williams the southernmost town in the world.
