Patagonia was a delight for wildlife exploration. There were all type of birds to view that do not exist in the northern hemisphere.
From the largest bird in the world, the andean condor, of which we saw many, to the austral parakeet, just to mention two. Guiding
the birdwatchers was an enthusiastic Ph.D in ornithology.

The bird pictured below is a Magellenic Woodpecker, which was a beautiful sight. We saw humpback whales breaching the water, frolicking
porpoises, sea lions, and elephant seals. We also saw guanacos, which are in the camel family, and flightless large birds called rheas.

Our first stop on shore was Magdalena Island, which was swarming with Magallanes Penguins. Many of them were viewing us from their burrows
while others were walking around their island. We also saw kelp gulls, skua birds, and buff necked ibis on the same island.
